MOLD FAQs
What is Mold?
Mold is Fungi that can be found indoors and outdoors. There are hundreds of thousands of fungi that are estimated to exist, but no one knows exactly how many exist. Mold grows best in warm, damp, and humid areas, and it spreads by making spores. Mold can survive harsh conditions that may not necessarily support mold growth once it has already grown.
How can mold effect you?
Mold can cause a wide range of reactions depending on your health, such as stuffy nose, wheezing, red or itchy eyes, or skin, fever, and shortness of breath. Some extreme cases exposure can lead to asthma.
Where is mold found?
Mold can be found just about anywhere, year-round. Mold growth is encouraged by warm humid conditions. Outdoors growth can be found in shady damp areas, or places where plants may be decomposing. Indoors pretty much anywhere were elevated humidity levels i.e. basements, crawlspaces, attics, and showers.
